Recognizing the critical role of youth in sustainable development, Green Foundation Nepal launched an Indigenous Youth Leadership Program in 2022. The year-long program trained 45 young people from various indigenous communities in leadership, community organizing, environmental conservation, and advocacy for indigenous rights. Participants developed and implemented community projects addressing local challenges. One graduate successfully advocated for the inclusion of indigenous knowledge in local forest management plans. Another established a youth-led eco-tourism initiative that generated income while preserving cultural heritage. These young leaders now mentor the next generation, creating a multiplier effect across communities.
