Following devastating landslides in 2020, five villages in Rasuwa partnered with Green Foundation Nepal to build climate resilience. The comprehensive program included watershed management, construction of check dams, establishment of community seed banks, and training in climate-smart agriculture. Villages adopted drought-resistant crop varieties and improved irrigation systems. Community early warning systems were installed, and local disaster response teams trained. After three years, crop yields increased by 35%, disaster-related losses decreased by 70%, and food security improved significantly. The project became a model for climate adaptation, with neighboring villages now seeking to replicate the approach.
