The Tharu people are one of Nepal's oldest indigenous communities, with a rich tradition of art and craft. The Tharu Craft Collective was established in 2012 to preserve traditional Tharu craftsmanship while providing sustainable livelihoods. Our artisans create stunning baskets, pottery, and home decor using techniques passed down for generations. Each piece reflects the Tharu connection to nature and their animist spiritual traditions. The collective supports 65 artisan families across 8 villages in the Terai region.
